How to market music on TikTok and Instagram
You market music on TikTok and Instagram by getting the track used in videos, getting posts in front of the right people, and watching what happens on a live dashboard. That is the job. Ads can sit next to it. They are not the same thing.
Labels and managers already know the platforms matter. The gap is usually the plan: who posts, whether they use the sound, and how you see it without waiting for a PDF at the end.
Why TikTok and Instagram
That is where people find new music now. A video uses the sound, or a creator posts the record, and it shows up in a feed that is not the artist’s official account.
You need both. TikTok is where a sound can travel. Instagram is where the same idea sits as a Reel. Run one and ignore the other and you leave half the audience out.
What actually moves a track
Sound usage. If the track is not on the video, the platform has less to push. That is true for fan pages, seeding, booked creators, and content from a show.
Then volume and fit. A lot of smaller pages using the sound is one job. A booked list from nano to mega is another. Creators at a festival is a third. Same goal, different list.
Organic creates after the first wave
The point is not the videos you paid for. It is the ones that keep coming after. You put the sound in enough of the right posts that other people pick it up on their own.
That is how a track starts to feel like a trend. You cannot promise a trend. You can run the first wave so the sound has a chance to run without you.
Four ways to do it
Fan pages are accounts you run every month. Burner and niche pages that still post when the artist does not. Official artist accounts stay yours.
Sound seeding is a high volume of smaller community pages and creators using the sound. You set the budget, approve the list, and how many videos. Drafts get checked. You watch the dashboard.
Creator campaigns book a list from nano to mega for high-impact posts. Same platforms. You sign the list off. Campaigns can start within 24 hours of a confirmed brief and strategy.
Live activations put creators at shows and festivals so the event is on TikTok and Instagram. How many creators depends on the budget.
How you know it is working
A live dashboard. Views, creates, posts, engagement as they happen. There is no monthly report and no end-of-campaign PDF. If you want to change the brief, you change it while it is live.
How to start
